Summary
La inflación del mes de mayo del año 2016, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios del Productor (IPP), fue del 0,4%, inferior a la tasa del 0,8% registrada en mayo del año pasado. Así, la inflación acumulada asciende al -0,1%, por debajo del 0,4% observado en mayo del 2015. Con estos datos, la inflación interanual del año 2016 asciende al 4,5%, menor al 5% correspondiente al mes de abril del corriente, y muy superior del 1,1% observado en mayo del año 2015.
En el nivel de los PRODUCTOS NACIONALES la inflación durante el mes de mayo del corriente fue del 0,2%, menor al 0,3% observado en el mismo mes del año anterior. Por su parte, la inflación acumulada se ubicó en 1,9%, por encima del - 1,3% verificado en mayo del año pasado. Así, la inflación interanual para los bienes nacionales cerró con una tasa del 2,9%, inferior al 3% de abril del corriente, y también por encima de la tasa del -1,7% verificada en mayo del año 2015.
Abstract
Inflation for May 2016, as measured by the change in the Producer Price Index (PPI), was 0.4%, lower than the 0.8% rate recorded in May of last year. Thus, cumulative inflation stands at -0.1%, below the 0.4% observed in May 2015. With these data, year-on-year inflation for 2016 amounts to 4.5%, lower than the 5% corresponding to April of this year and much higher than the 1.1% observed in May of 2015.
In terms of DOMESTIC PRODUCTS, inflation during the month of May of this year was 0.2%, lower than the 0.3% observed in the same month of the previous year. Cumulative inflation, meanwhile, stood at 1.9%, above the -1.3% observed in May of last year. Thus, year-on-year inflation for domestic goods closed at 2.9%, lower than the 3% recorded in April of this year and also higher than the -1.7% recorded in May 2015.
