Evolución del Índice de Precios del productor (IPP): junio de 2016

Abstract

Inflation for May 2016, as measured by the change in the Producer Price Index (PPI), was 0.4%, lower than the 0.8% rate recorded in May of last year. Thus, cumulative inflation stands at -0.1%, below the 0.4% observed in May 2015. With these data, year-on-year inflation for 2016 amounts to 4.5%, lower than the 5% corresponding to April of this year and much higher than the 1.1% observed in May of 2015. In terms of DOMESTIC PRODUCTS, inflation during the month of May of this year was 0.2%, lower than the 0.3% observed in the same month of the previous year. Cumulative inflation, meanwhile, stood at 1.9%, above the -1.3% observed in May of last year. Thus, year-on-year inflation for domestic goods closed at 2.9%, lower than the 3% recorded in April of this year and also higher than the -1.7% recorded in May 2015.
