Summary
La inflación del mes de junio del año 2007, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del -0,7%, menor a la tasa del -0,4% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al -1,5%, por debajo del 3,7% verificado en igual período durante el año anterior. Por su parte, la inflación interanual se ubica en 6,8%, por debajo del 7,1% registrado en el mes de mayo del año 2007, y también inferior al 8,4% observado en junio del año 2006.
Abstract
Inflation for June 2008, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 1.2%, higher than the -0.7% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 5.4%, above the -1.5% recorded in the same period last year. Meanwhile, year-on-year inflation was 13.4%, higher than the 11.3% recorded in May 2008 and also higher than the 6.8% recorded in June last year. Core inflation, which excludes volatile items in the basket, was lower than total monthly inflation (0.9%). Thus, year-on-year inflation as of June 2008, as measured by this indicator, rose to 13.1%, above the 12.6% recorded in May 2008, and also higher than the 3.1% recorded in June of the previous year.
