Summary
La inflación del mes de febrero del año 2017, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,9%, superior a la tasa del 0,5% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 1,5%, por debajo del 3,1% verificado en el mismo periodo en el año anterior. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 2,3%, resultado mayor al 1,9% observado en el mes de enero del corriente año, e inferior a la tasa del 5,1% registrada en el mes de febrero del año pasado.
Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se situó en un nivel inferior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,4%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 2,9%, superior a la tasa del 2,8% correspondiente al mes de enero del corriente año, y menor a la tasa del 4,4% verificada en el mes de febrero del año 2016.
Abstract
Inflation for February 2017, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.9%, higher than the 0.5% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 1.5%, below the 3.1% observed in the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 2.3%, higher than the 1.9% observed in January of this year and lower than the 5.1% rate recorded in February of last year.
Furthermore, it is noted that core inflation1 was lower than total monthly inflation (at 0.4%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 2.9%, higher than the 2.8% rate for January of this year and lower than the 4.4% rate recorded in February 2016.
