La inflación del mes de diciembre del año 2016, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,6%, inferior a la tasa del 0,9% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior.
Con este resultado, la inflación del año 2016 se ubicó en 3,9%, mayor al 3,1% registrado en el año 2015. Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se situó en un nivel inferior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,4%). Así, la inflación del 2016 medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 3,1%, menor a la tasa de 3,7% verificada en el año anterior.
Abstract
Inflation for December 2016, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.6%, lower than the 0.9% rate observed in the same month the previous year.
With this result, inflation for 2016 stood at 3.9%, higher than the 3.1% recorded in 2015. Furthermore, core inflation1 was lower than monthly total inflation (0.4%). Thus, inflation in 2016, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 3.1%, lower than the 3.7% rate observed in the previous year.
