Summary
La inflación del mes de agosto del año 2015, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del -0,1%, mayor a la tasa del -0,4% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 2,2%, por debajo del 2,5% verificado en el mismo periodo del año anterior. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 3,9%, resultado mayor al 3,6% observado en el mes de julio del corriente año, pero por debajo de la tasa del 4,4% registrada en el mes de agosto del año pasado.
Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se sitúo en un nivel superior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,4%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 3,1%, mayor al 2,8% correspondiente al mes de julio del corriente año y menor a la tasa del 3,6% verificada en el mes de agosto del año 2014.
Abstract
Inflation for August 2015, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was -0.1%, higher than the -0.4% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 2.2%, below the 2.5% observed in the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 3.9%, higher than the 3.6% observed in July of this year, but lower than the 4.4% rate recorded in August of last year. Furthermore, core inflation1 was higher than total monthly inflation (at 0.4%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 3.1%, higher than the 2.8% corresponding to July of this year and lower than the 3.6% rate recorded in August 2014.
