dc.description | En este estudio se presenta evidencia a favor de la tesis de que los ciclos de la economía del Paraguay se deben a fluctuaciones en la tecnología. Tomando como base a la simulación del modelo de ciclos reales de Kydland y Prescott, se ha encontrado que dicho modelo es relativamente satisfactorio para explicar el ciclo económico en Paraguay. El modelo falla a la hora de replicar con exactitud los co-movimientos de las variables, sin embargo, es relativamente bueno para derivar los segundos momentos de las variables de forma individual. Es capaz de generar funciones de impulso respuesta para el producto, que cuantifican aproximadamente el mismo impacto que el obtenido a través de la implementación del modelo estructural de vectores autorregresivos, con restricciones a largo plazo. A su vez, los resultados derivados de la descomposición de varianzas fortalecen la idea del ciclo económico dirigido por shocks tecnológicos, estando un 79 % de la varianza del error de predicción asociada a la existencia de estos shocks. |
