Summary
La inflación del mes de setiembre del año 2019, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,3%, inferior a la tasa del 0,4% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 1,6%, por debajo del 2,2% verificado en el mismo periodo del año 2018. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 2,6%, inferior a la tasa del 2,8% registrada en el mes de agosto del corriente año, y también menor a la tasa del 4% registrada en el mes de setiembre del año pasado.
Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se situó en un nivel inferior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,2%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 2,6%, levemente inferior a la tasa del 2,7% registrada en el mes de agosto del corriente año, y también por debajo de la tasa del 2,9% verificada en el mes de setiembre del año 2018.
Abstract
Inflation for September 2019, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.3%, lower than the 0.4% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 1.6%, below the 2.2% recorded in the same period in 2018. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 2.6%, lower than the 2.8% rate recorded in August of this year and also lower than the 4% rate recorded in September of last year. Furthermore, it is noted that core inflation was lower than monthly headline inflation (0.2%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 2.6%, slightly lower than the 2.7% rate recorded in August of this year, and also below the 2.9% rate recorded in September 2018.
