Summary
La inflación del mes de setiembre del año 2016, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,2%, superior a la tasa del -0,1% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada del año asciende al 2,5%, superior al 2% verificado en el mismo periodo del año anterior. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 3,5%, resultado mayor al 3,2% observado en el mes de agosto del corriente año, e inferior a la tasa del 3,7% registrada en el mes de setiembre del año pasado.
Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se situó en un nivel superior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,3%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador alcanzó una tasa del 3,5%, igual a la tasa correspondiente al mes de agosto del corriente año, y por encima de la tasa del 3,2% verificada en el mes de setiembre del año 2015.
Abstract
Inflation for September 2016, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.2%, higher than the -0.1% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 2.5%, higher than the 2% observed in the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 3.5%, higher than the 3.2% observed in August of this year and lower than the 3.7% rate recorded in September of last year.
Furthermore, it is noted that core inflation1 was higher than monthly headline inflation (0.3%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 3.5%, equal to the rate for August of this year and above the 3.2% rate recorded in September 2015.
