Summary
La inflación del mes de octubre del año 2016, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del -0,2%, superior a la tasa del -0,3% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada del año asciende al 2,2%, superior al 1,7% verificado en el mismo periodo del año anterior. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 3,6%, resultado mayor al 3,5% observado en el mes de setiembre del corriente año, y también superior a la tasa del 3,2% registrada en el mes de octubre del año pasado.
Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se situó en un nivel superior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,2%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador alcanzó una tasa del 3,3%, inferior a la tasa del 3,5% correspondiente al mes de setiembre del corriente año, y similar a la tasa verificada en el mes de octubre del año 2015.
Abstract
Inflation for October 2016, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was -0.2%, higher than the -0.3% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 2.2%, higher than the 1.7% observed in the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 3.6%, higher than the 3.5% observed in September of this year and also higher than the 3.2% rate recorded in October last year.
Furthermore, it is noted that core inflation1 was higher than total monthly inflation (at 0.2%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 3.3%, lower than the 3.5% rate for September of this year and similar to the rate recorded in October 2015.
