Summary
La inflación del mes de mayo del año 2015, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 1,5%, mayor a la tasa del 0,3% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 2,4%, por debajo del 3,3% verificado en el mismo periodo del año anterior. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 3,3%, resultado mayor al 2% observado en el mes de abril del corriente año, y por debajo de la tasa del 7% registrada en el mes de mayo del año pasado. Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se sitúo en un nivel inferior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,7%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 2,6%, superior al 2,3% correspondiente al mes de abril del corriente año y menor a la tasa del 4,3% verificada en el mes de mayo del año 2014
Abstract
Inflation in May 2015, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 1.5%, higher than the 0.3% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 2.4%, below the 3.3% observed in the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 3.3%, higher than the 2% observed in April of this year and below the 7% rate recorded in May of last year. Furthermore, core inflation1 was lower than total monthly inflation (at 0.7%). Thus, the year-on-year inflation measured by this indicator reached a rate of 2.6%, higher than the 2.3% corresponding to the month of April of this year and lower than the rate of 4.3% verified in the month of May 2014.
