Summary
La inflación del mes de julio del año 2009, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del -0,3%, inferior a la tasa del 0,5% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año se ubica en -0,4%, por debajo del 5,9% verificado durante el mismo periodo del año 2008. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 1,1%, resultado menor al 1,9% observado en el mes de junio del corriente año, y también menor a la tasa del 13,4% registrado en el mes de julio del año 2008.
Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación subyacente (indicador que excluye los rubros volátiles de la canasta) se situó en un nivel superior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,4%). Así, la inflación interanual medido por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 1,1%, por debajo de la tasa del 1,3% correspondiente al mes de junio del corriente año, y también inferior a la tasa del 12,8% verificado en el mes de julio del año pasado.
Abstract
Inflation for July 2009, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was -0.3%, lower than the 0.5% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year stands at -0.4%, below the 5.9% observed during the same period in 2008. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 1.1%, lower than the 1.9% observed in June of this year and also lower than the 13.4% rate recorded in July 2008. Furthermore, it is noted that core inflation (an indicator that excludes volatile items in the basket) was higher than total monthly inflation (at 0.4%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 1.1%, below the 1.3% rate for June of this year and also lower than the 12.8% rate recorded in July of last year.
