La inflación del mes de mayo del año 2006, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC) fue -0,3%, menor a la tasa del 1,5% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año se sitúa en 4,2%, por debajo del 5,2% registrado en igual período del año 2005. La inflación interanual, por su parte, asciende al 8,7%, inferior a la tasa del 10,6% observada en abril del corriente año, pero por encima del 7,2% registrado en mayo del año anterior.
Abstract
Inflation for May 2006, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was -0.3%, lower than the 1.5% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year stands at 4.2%, below the 5.2% recorded in the same period in 2005. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, stood at 8.7%, lower than the 10.6% rate observed in April of this year, but higher than the 7.2% recorded in May of last year.
