dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de marzo del año 2009, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del -0,2%, inferior a la tasa del 0,7% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al -0,4%, por debajo del 3,6% verificado en el mismo periodo en el año anterior. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 3,4%, resultado menor al 4,3% observado en el mes de febrero del corriente año, y también inferior a la tasa del 12,3% registrado en el mes de marzo del año pasado. Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación subyacente (indicador que excluye los rubros volátiles de la canasta) se sitúo en un nivel superior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,2%). Así, la inflación interanual medido por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 3,5%, resultado menor a la tasa del 3,9% correspondiente al mes de febrero del corriente año, y también inferior a la tasa del 11,1% verificado en el mes de marzo del año anterior.
dc.description.abstractInflation for March 2009, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was -0.2%, lower than the 0.7% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached -0.4%, below the 3.6% observed in the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 3.4%, lower than the 4.3% observed in February of this year and also lower than the 12.3% rate recorded in March of last year. Furthermore, core inflation (an indicator that excludes volatile items in the basket) was higher than total monthly inflation (by 0.2%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 3.5%, lower than the 3.9% rate for February of this year and also lower than the 11.1% rate recorded in March of last year.
