dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de julio del año 2008, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,5%, superior a la tasa del 0,4% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 5,9%, ubicándose por encima del -1,1% registrado en el mismo período durante el año anterior. Por otro lado, la inflación interanual fue del 13,4%, similar al verificado en junio del 2008, aunque superior al 7,5% registrado en julio del año pasado. Por su parte, la inflación subyacente -aquella que excluye los rubros volátiles de la canasta- se ubicó en un nivel levemente superior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,6%). Así, la inflación interanual al mes de julio de 2008, medido por este indicador, ascendió al 12,8%, inferior 13,1% verificado en el mes de junio de 2008, pero mayor al 3,7% observado en el mes de julio del año anterior.
dc.description.abstractInflation for July 2008, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.5%, higher than the 0.4% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 5.9%, above the -1.1% recorded in the same period last year. Meanwhile, year-on-year inflation was 13.4%, similar to the rate recorded in June 2008, although higher than the 7.5% recorded in July of last year. Core inflation—which excludes volatile items—was slightly higher than total monthly inflation (0.6%). Thus, year-on-year inflation in July 2008, as measured by this indicator, rose to 12.8%, lower than the 13.1% recorded in June 2008, but higher than the 3.7% observed in July of the previous year.
