Abstract

This report presents the most relevant data on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Paraguay for the third quarter of 2005 and compares it with the same period in 2004. It is important to note that the figures for flows and stocks (balances) for the quarters of 2004 and the first two quarters of 2005, published in the previous report, differ due to an increase in the percentage of data received. At the time of writing this report, the coverage percentage for the third quarter of 2005 reached 88%. The analysis of FDI established in Paraguay during the reference period is based on data reported by non-financial and financial companies between 2004 and 2005. In the third quarter of 2004, the number of respondents was 143; of this total, 127 were non-financial companies and 16 were financial entities (banks and insurance companies). In the third quarter of 2005, the number of respondents was 134; of this total, 120 were non-financial companies and 14 were financial entities.
