Evolución del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC): en agosto de 2019

Abstract

Inflation for August 2019, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was -0.1%, lower than the 0.2% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 1.4%, below the 1.8% recorded in the same period in 2018. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 2.8%, lower than the 3.1% rate recorded in July of this year and also lower than the 3.9% rate recorded in August of last year. Furthermore, it is noted that core inflation was higher than total monthly inflation (0.1%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 2.7%, slightly lower than the 2.8% rate recorded in July of this year, and also below the 2.8% rate recorded in August 2018.
