Evolución del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC): en agosto de 2017

dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de agosto del año 2017, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,3%, superior a la tasa del 0,2% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 2,4%, por encima del 2,2% verificado en el mismo periodo del año anterior. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 4%, similar al registrado en el mes de julio del corriente año y superior a la tasa del 3,2% registrada en el mes de agosto del año pasado. Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se situó en un nivel inferior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,2%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 3,1%, menor al 3,2% correspondiente al mes de julio del corriente año y también por debajo de la tasa del 3,5% verificada en el mes de agosto del año 2016.
dc.description.abstractInflation for August 2017, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.3%, higher than the 0.2% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 2.4%, above the 2.2% recorded in the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 4%, similar to that recorded in July of this year and higher than the 3.2% rate recorded in August of last year. Furthermore, it is noted that core inflation1 was lower than total monthly inflation (at 0.2%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 3.1%, lower than the 3.2% corresponding to July of this year and also below the 3.5% rate recorded in August 2016.
