dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de mayo del año 2020, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios del Productor (IPP), fue de -1,1%, inferior a la tasa del 0,1% registrada en el mismo mes del año 2019. De la misma manera, la inflación acumulada a mayo de 2020 fue de -0,7%, inferior al 0,4% observado el año pasado. Así, la inflación interanual del mes se ubicó en -0,1%, por debajo de la tasa del 1,1% observada en el mes anterior, y menor a la tasa del 2,1% verificada en el mes de mayo del año 2019. En el nivel de los PRODUCTOS NACIONALES la inflación durante el mes de mayo del 2020 fue del -1,7%, inferior a la variación del -0,9% observada en el mismo mes del año 2019. Por su parte, la inflación acumulada a mayo del 2020 fue del -1,4%, por encima de la tasa del -1,8% registrada en el año anterior. De esta manera, la inflación interanual del mes de mayo se ubicó en una tasa del -0,5%, resultado inferior al 0,2% registrado en el mes de abril del corriente, pero por encima del -1% verificado en mayo de 2019.
dc.description.abstractInflation in May 2020, as measured by the Producer Price Index (PPI), was -1.1%, lower than the 0.1% rate recorded in the same month in 2019. Similarly, cumulative inflation through May 2020 was -0.7%, lower than the 0.4% recorded last year. Thus, year-on-year inflation for the month was -0.1%, below the 1.1% rate observed in the previous month and lower than the 2.1% rate observed in May 2019. For domestic products, inflation during May 2020 was -1.7%, lower than the -0.9% variation observed in the same month in 2019. Cumulative inflation through May 2020 was -1.4%, higher than the -1.8% rate recorded in the previous year. Thus, year-on-year inflation for May was -0.5%, lower than the 0.2% recorded in April of this year, but higher than the -1% recorded in May 2019.
