dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de mayo del año 2019, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios del Productor (IPP), fue de 0,1%, levemente inferior a la tasa del 0,2% registrada en el mismo mes del año 2018. De la misma manera, la inflación acumulada a mayo de 2019 fue de 0,4%, inferior al 0,6% observado el año pasado. Así, la inflación interanual del mes se ubicó en 2,1%, levemente por debajo de la tasa del 2,3% observada en el mes anterior, y también menor a la tasa del 3% verificada en el mes de mayo del año 2018. En el nivel de los PRODUCTOS NACIONALES la inflación durante el mes de mayo del año 2019 fue del -0,9%, menor al -0,3% observado en el mismo mes del año 2018. Por su parte, la inflación acumulada a mayo del 2019 fue de -1,8%, por debajo de la tasa del 0% registrada en el año anterior. De esta manera, la inflación interanual del mes de mayo cerró con una tasa del -1%, inferior al -0,4% de abril del corriente, y también por debajo del 4,2% verificado en mayo de 2018.
dc.description.abstractInflation for May 2019, as measured by the Producer Price Index (PPI), was 0.1%, slightly lower than the 0.2% rate recorded for the same month in 2018. Similarly, cumulative inflation through May 2019 was 0.4%, lower than the 0.6% recorded last year. Thus, year-on-year inflation for the month stood at 2.1%, slightly below the 2.3% rate observed in the previous month and also lower than the 3% rate observed in May 2018. For domestic products, inflation during May 2019 was -0.9%, lower than the -0.3% observed in the same month in 2018. Cumulative inflation through May 2019 was -1.8%, below the 0% rate recorded in the previous year. Thus, year-on-year inflation for May closed at a rate of -1%, lower than the -0.4% observed in April of this year and also lower than the 4.2% observed in May 2018.
