dc.descriptionEl artículo intenta determinar el impacto de la construcción de Itaipú sobre el crecimiento económico de Paraguay. Dentro de sus conclusiones se destacan los aspectos positivos de la construcción asociado con el efecto ingreso y los efectos negativos que se asocian principalmente con la apreciación real del tipo de cambio y problemas de aspectos demográficos. Por otro lado resalta la importancia de las tasas de crecimiento de las inversiones sobre la tasa de crecimiento del producto. Al mismo tiempo insiste como el tipo de inversiones que realiza un país puede afectar su sendero de crecimiento en el tiempo.
dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this paper is to determine the Itaipú damn construction impact on the economic growth of Paraguay. Within its conclusions can be found the positive aspects associated with income effect and, on the other side, the negative ones having to due with real appreciation of the exchange rate and the problems related to demographic aspects. On the other side, the paper stresses the importance of more investments on the economic growth at time of insisting on how investment types performed by a country may determine the path of its growth along the time.
