Abstract

Inflation for March 2018, measured by the variation in the Producer Price Index (PPI), was -0.4%, higher than the -0.6% rate recorded in the same month last year. Thus, cumulative inflation amounts to 0.2%, above the -0.4% observed in March 2017. With this data, year-on-year inflation for March 2018 stands at 2.7%, higher than the 2.5% corresponding to February of this year, but lower than the 3.3% observed in March 2017. For DOMESTIC PRODUCTS, inflation during March of this year was -0.6%, lower than the -0.1% observed in the same month last year. Meanwhile, cumulative inflation stood at 0.3%, below the 0.8% recorded in March of last year. Thus, year-on-year inflation for domestic goods closed at 4.2%, lower than the 4.7% recorded in February of this year and also below the 6.7% recorded in March 2017.
