dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de octubre del año 2020, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,5%, superior a la tasa de variación del 0,4% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 0,9%, por debajo del 2% verificado en el mismo periodo del año 2019. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 1,7%, superior a la tasa del 1,6% registrada en el mes de septiembre del corriente año, pero menor a la tasa del 2,4% apuntada en el mes de octubre del año pasado. Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se situó en un nivel inferior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,2%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 1,7%, similar a la tasa registrada en el mes de septiembre del corriente año, pero por debajo de la tasa del 2,3% verificada en el mes de octubre del año 2019.
dc.description.abstractInflation in October 2020, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.5%, higher than the 0.4% observed in the same month last year. This brings year-to-date inflation to 0.9%, below the 2% rate recorded in the same period in 2019. Year-on-year inflation was 1.7%, higher than the 1.6% rate recorded in September of this year, but lower than the 2.4% rate recorded in October of last year. Core inflation was also lower than monthly headline inflation (0.2%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 1.7%, similar to the rate recorded in September of this year, but below the 2.3% rate recorded in October 2019.
