Evolución del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC): en octubre de 2013

dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de octubre del 2013, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), alcanzó una tasa del 0,8%, mayor a la tasa del -0,2% observada en el mismo mes del año 2012. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 3%, por encima de la tasa del 2,6% registrada durante el mismo periodo en el año anterior. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 4,4%, resultado mayor a la tasa del 3,2% verificada en el mes de setiembre del corriente año, y también por encima de la tasa del 3,4% registrada en el mes de octubre del año pasado. Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación subyacente (indicador que excluye los rubros volátiles de la canasta) se sitúo en un nivel similar al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,8%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 3,5%, superior a la tasa del 3% correspondiente al mes de setiembre del corriente año, y también por encima de la tasa del 3,3% verificada en el mes de octubre del año 2012.
dc.description.abstractInflation for October 2013, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reached a rate of 0.8%, higher than the -0.2% rate observed in the same month in 2012. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 3%, above the 2.6% rate recorded during the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 4.4%, higher than the 3.2% rate recorded in September of this year and also higher than the 3.4% rate recorded in October of last year. Furthermore, core inflation (an indicator that excludes volatile items in the basket) was similar to the monthly total inflation rate (0.8%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 3.5%, higher than the 3% rate for September of this year and also above the 3.3% rate recorded in October 2012.
