dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de octubre del año 2009, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,8%, superior a la tasa del 0,3% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año se ubicó en 1,9%, por debajo del 6,5% verificado durante el mismo periodo en el año 2008. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 2,8%, resultado mayor al 2,3% observado en el mes de setiembre del corriente año, pero por debajo del 5,5% registrado en el mes de octubre del año anterior. Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación subyacente (indicador que excluye los rubros volátiles de la canasta) se situó en un nivel levemente inferior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,1%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 0,1%, inferior al 0,8% correspondiente al mes de setiembre del corriente año, y también menor a la tasa del 9,5% verificado en el mes de octubre del año pasado.
dc.description.abstractInflation for October 2009, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.8%, higher than the 0.3% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year stood at 1.9%, below the 6.5% observed during the same period in 2008. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 2.8%, higher than the 2.3% observed in September of this year, but lower than the 5.5% recorded in October of last year. On the other hand, it is noted that core inflation (an indicator that excludes volatile items in the basket) was slightly lower than the total monthly inflation rate (0.1%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 0.1%, lower than the 0.8% recorded in September of this year and also lower than the 9.5% recorded in October of last year.
