Evolución del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC): en noviembre de 2008

Abstract

Inflation for November 2008, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.4%, higher than the -2.2% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 6.9%, above the 4.6% recorded in the same period last year. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 8.3%, higher than the 5.5% recorded in October 2008 and also well above the 7.4% recorded in November 2007. On the other hand, core inflation—which excludes volatile items in the basket—was lower than the total monthly inflation rate (0.1%). Thus, the year-on-year inflation in November 2008, measured by this indicator, was 8%, lower than the 9.5% observed in October 2008, and also higher than the 7.3% observed in November of the previous year.
