La inflación del mes de noviembre del año 2006, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue 1,9%, levemente mayor a la tasa del 1,7% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año se sitúa en 9,5%, por debajo del 10,5% registrado en igual período del año 2005. La inflación interanual, por su parte, asciende al 8,9%, un poco mayor al 8,7% observado en el mes de octubre del corriente año, pero menor al 12,3% registrado en el mes de noviembre del año 2005.
Sin embargo, se subraya que la inflación subyacente no registró variación alguna durante el mes de noviembre, lo cual parece indicar que la inflación antes que estar afectada por factores fundamentales está más bien sobredeterminada por los incrementos verificados en los rubros volátiles de la canasta.
Abstract
Inflation for November 2006, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 1.9%, slightly higher than the 1.7% rate observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year stands at 9.5%, below the 10.5% recorded in the same period in 2005. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, amounted to 8.9%, slightly higher than the 8.7% observed in October of this year, but lower than the 12.3% recorded in November 2005. However, it should be noted that core inflation did not change at all during November, which seems to indicate that inflation, rather than being affected by fundamental factors, is rather overdetermined by increases in volatile items in the basket.
