Evolución del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC): en mayo de 2018

dc.descriptionLa inflación del mes de mayo del año 2018, medida por la variación del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC), fue del 0,1%, tasa menor al 0,3% observada en el mismo mes del año anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación acumulada en el año asciende al 1,2%, por debajo del 2,2% verificado en el mismo periodo del año 2017. La inflación interanual, por su parte, fue del 3,5%, inferior al 3,6% registrada en el mes de abril del corriente año, pero superior a la tasa del 3,4% registrada en el mes de mayo del año pasado. Por otro lado, se señala que la inflación núcleo1 se situó en un nivel superior al de la inflación total mensual (en 0,2%). Así, la inflación interanual medida por este indicador, alcanzó una tasa del 2,4%, por debajo del 2,6% registrada en el mes de abril del corriente año y también inferior a la tasa del 3,4% verificada en el mes de mayo del año 2017.
dc.description.abstractInflation for May 2018, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.1%, lower than the 0.3% observed in the same month last year. With this result, cumulative inflation for the year reached 1.2%, below the 2.2% recorded in the same period in 2017. Year-on-year inflation, meanwhile, was 3.5%, lower than the 3.6% recorded in April of this year, but higher than the 3.4% rate recorded in May of last year. On the other hand, it is noted that core inflation1 was higher than total monthly inflation (at 0.2%). Thus, year-on-year inflation, as measured by this indicator, reached a rate of 2.4%, below the 2.6% recorded in April of this year and also lower than the 3.4% rate recorded in May 2017.
